Rhythms (are stronger than goals)
Have you ever become frustrated because you feel like you set goals but never actually pull them off?
What if I told you the problem isn’t the goal, but that we rarely understand the idea of inputs and how they lead to outputs?
Daniel Im taught me alot about this process last summer when I read his book No Silver Bullets.
Routines exist because they are the best, most effective, and most efficient way to get things done. - Daniel Im
On this episode of Productive Pastor, we are going to get into the larger idea of goals, why they can frustrate us, and what it means to work with preferred future thinking in order to envision an honest goal, no matter what part of our life it exists in, and then begin crafting the steps to get to it.
The method we talk about in this episode really centers around my favorite question to ask. It is appreciative in nature (my favorite way to think about the future) and is honest towards who we are, honest about our situations and the others in our life.
Here is the magic question.
What would have to be true?
Friends. Seriously. The more we are able to learn about this question, and just the power of asking good questions and applying them to our life, the more benefit we will discover. I even did a livestream about this question and a few of my other favorites.
So let’s jump into this episode together.
