The End of Day Meeting : PP103
I've got a simple, 15-minute wrap up meeting I do with myself each day. It ensures I can follow-up well, evaluate, as well as plan for the next day.
Each day, the last thing I do is have a quick meeting with myself. I work through a few things to make sure I cover the ground of what I was able to accomplish that day. These practices have evolved over time, but the basic framework has stayed the same.
Commitments
I go through my working notes, any meeting or conversations, and my email. I make sure to write down the things I am responsible for in my notebook for the next day, or schedule it as part of my Weekly Dashboard on Trello.
Evaluate
I look through my daysheet and evaluate my day. I think through how well I stuck to my plan and if not, I ask myself the question why. If I didn’t get to something, I move it forward to the next day or make a plan for when I am going to wrap it up.
Plan
I block out the next day, and think through what tasks I need to focus on.
All of this takes me around 15-20 minutes, and then I call my day done.
