Small Productivity is Real Productivity
Have you ever realized just a few degrees of change can flip everything?
In this episode, let's talk about three basic productivity practices which allow ANYONE to get out of problem mode and into a healthier ministry through strategic productivity.
James Clear gives us a great analogy in his book ATOMIC HABITS.
Many times, I talk with ministry leaders who know they have problems that can be solved through productivity. What I have noticed is they usually want to make sweeping changes. What I have also noticed is these sweeping changes often don’t last and create even further chaos.
Instead, let me offer up three simple, minimum viable practices, which serve as the building blocks to better ministry productivity.
Tasks
Are you writing things down? Honestly, this is the best first step. Finding a system to keep up with things is important. Even if its just a brain dump, it matters. Taking things out of your mind releases so much mental energy and lets you focus on what is actually in front of you.
Calendar Management
Keep a calendar, refer to your calendar, and let your calendar work for you. Schedule what you know is important. Build time in for the things you know you need to develop. Use your calendar to make sure you aren’t overloading yourself or expectations.
Manage your day.
My daysheet is my favorite tool for this. (get it for free using the link). Spending time making sure your day is well ordered and responsive is another basic practice.
But what about the big things?
Big things simply take the skills you build up with these three core practices and let them work better.
