PP85 : 4 Levels of Productivity

How do you know if your productivity is growing?

What if I told you it is possible to be really productive in one part of ministry, but not in another?
Part of building a personal approach to productivity is realizing when and how you can experience productivity growth. Let’s jump into that in the latest episode.

Level 1 | No Approach to Strategic Productivity

This level is quickly characterized by not knowing what the next thing to do is. You simply react to whatever comes across your desk and do that. Sermon preparation gets squeezed in amidst an already busy schedule. This level of reactive mode keeps you from even grasping at a big picture.

Level 2 | Rookie Productivity

Here you have a bit of a plan. You might have a whole day dedicated to sermon work. The urgent is still running the show. You are aware of the big picture, but getting there still isn’t possible.

Good news. If you think you have some areas stuck in level 2, I have two resources for you.

Level 3 | Intermediate Productivity

This stage is all about the awareness you have built up. You’ve got a sermon calendar, and are working through strategic weeks. You can easily separate urgent from important and are pretty responsive instead of reactive.
