Why I’m Not Using the ESV Anymore
For the last several years I have been on an experiment and practice of using one Bible for almost all of my reading for the year. When I started this project I began using a Cambridge Wide Margin Hardback (#TurkeyBuzzard) in the ESV. While I wasn’t a fan of the ESV that much, it was the only edition I could find in a Cambridge Wide Margin that was hardback. So I ended up using the ESV quite often.
Around 6 months ago I wanted to move off of the ESV and started to look for a Bible that would allow my to keep up some of the rhythms that I loved about #OneBible AND be in a translation I felt more comfortable supporting.
In this video I talk about the power and value of Christian ecumenicism, how a deliberate discernment practice looks, AND why I’m not using the ESV anymore.
